A:AnswerHi Will - Thanks for reaching out to us and for choosing GE® 30" Slide-In Front-Control Convection Gas Range JGS760SELSS! The Convection feature on select gas range models incorporates a two-speed fan in the rear of the oven that circulates hot air throughout the oven. The fan runs at 2 speeds (low and high) on convection bake. The fan will only run when the bake burner is off during the convection bake. The fan does not run when the bake burner is on and calling for heat.
The fan will cycle on and off frequently; this is normal. Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. Sue
A:AnswerHi Dee - Thanks for choosing GE! We can certainly understand your concern when smelling gas. When the oven first starts, it is normal to detect an unusual odor coming from the range. This odor is caused by the combustion of gas at the burner, and it will go away within a few minutes as the oven heats up. Unburned gas also has an odor. It is completely different from the odor caused by the combustion of gas. Some people equate the odor of unburned gas to the smell of rotten eggs. It is not normal to smell unburned gas in your home, therefore, if you smell gas, you should: *Open the windows. *Do not touch electrical switches. *Extinguish any open flame. *Promptly call your gas supplier from a phone outside your home. To schedule service online, visit us at GEAppliances.com or call 1.800.GE.CARES (800.432.2737). Please have your serial number and your model number available when calling for service. We’re glad to have you in the family and hope this is helpful. Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. Sue
