GE's answer used the wrong units. Per the Energy Star website, it should read "1.8 L/kWh" (Liters per kilowatt-hr). So higher numbers mean the unit is more energy-efficient.

We can tell you this model is Energy Star qualified and has an Integrated Energy Factor of 1.8kWh per liter of water removed.
