• You don't need a hose. My machine shuts off, when it is full. I empty the chamber, then and put it back. It can be easily carried, to a sink.

• If you don't connect a hose it will drip into the self-contained 'bucket' which you must then empty when filled.

• We have a hose attached to it that drains directly into our slop sink. The hose came with our old dehumidifier that we had for 20 years before it stopped working. They sell them online for dehumidifiers. Ours sits on a tall table next to our basement sink and it drains right into it thru the hose. You can also have it where it fills up and you have to manually dump the water.
