“Had the hose hooked up to the window with open to outside. My mother in law said I should put the screen back on the window so bugs and other things won't go down the hose and into the unit. My question is : IF bugs/debris have gotten in how do i clean?”

Have you felt the air coming out on the outside? It’s hot...I highly doubt bugs are going to want to fly into it. You would probably have to take the hose off the unit and rinse it out...that would be my guess. I have the screens on the windows.
