  • QuestionWhy does it say i need to order a range cord? Why would a new range not have one attached already??

    • Answer Hi Blue - Thanks for considering GE Model # JBS86SPSS! Our GE electric ranges do not come with power cords from the factory. The power cord is sold separately. It is not possible to determine the type of facilities each consumer has available or what the local electrical codes require (ex. 3-wire vs 4-wire). Keep in touch at GEAppliances.com. Sue

  • QuestionDoes this range use a three or four prong electric cord?

    • Answer Hi there! We appreciate the questions and are happy to share more about this excellent range. The cord for our electric ranges is not included due to the varying outlets in homes. So when purchasing the range, be sure to also purchase a 40 amp cord that corresponds to the outlet in your kitchen. Thanks so much. - John@GEAppliances

    • Answer Hi Eric - Model JBS86SPSS has Steam Clean only. A steam cleaning option cleans the oven cavity in a 30-minute cycle with less odor and heat. Thanks for viewing GE! Sue

  • QuestionDoes the steam clean feature clean the top oven at the same time as the lower? Or do I put water in both sections?

    • Answer Not sure. Our brand new oven was delivered this week and it does not work. We were told it will be a month before they can replace it. So we have no oven for the holidays. I’d look at something else.
