Our installer said it would smell at first as it was burning off some oil used for protection. He had us run it for half an hour before using it, and we still noticed some lingering odor for a day or two. Now it seems fine.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Ours did not do this but did you put the oven on when first installed and let it get the smell out originally? I know thats necessary for it to work properly.

The small amount of odor and/or smoke from the cooktop or oven on a new wall oven or gas, electric or dual fuel range is normal when first used. It is caused by the heating of new parts, insulating materials, or the tape used in shipping, and should dissipate after the first few uses. If you want to get rid of the odor quicker, follow the self-cleaning instructions in your Owner's Manual. Hope this helps and that you're enjoying your new range! -Michael@GEA
