Hi dancingwoman- This dishwasher has lower and middle wash arms. It also has dedicated silverware jets that spray highly pressurized water to provide additional coverage areas and improve cleaning results for utensils. Specifically designed to target the silverware basket regardless of placement around the outside perimeter of the lower rack. Thanks for considering GE! SUE@GEA
