Hi Jim, I apologize as I gifted this purchase to a friend who installed it in their home so I am not aware of any issues with it. They have had it just under a month and since then, no issues however.

When pressing in areas off center and further from center, the door latch is more difficult to operate. Based on our research, there is not a recall out for this issue.
