You would also purchase the appropriate built-in kit in the color finish you desire. The gray color of the microwave is designed to match the control panel and door on our newer model wall ovens. When you pair this microwave with the slate built-in kit, you now have a beautiful match to the wall oven below. The gray and slate colors are two different color finishes. We hope this helps. It would not be able to fit your current opening. We do have a model that would be able to fit your opening. Model PEM31DFBB can fit an opening of 24.75". We hope this model is to your liking.
