Hi songbird9, thanks for reaching out to us and for your patience! We truly appreciate your interest in this fantastic sensor microwave and are happy to offer you some guidance in this. This microwave uses traditional microwave cooking technology, where power is cycled 100% on and off during cooking. We do not currently offer a microwave that uses inverter technology for cooking. Inverter technology delivers "true" microwave power levels with constant medium to low power when cooking or defrosting. Our microwaves currently only provide this technology with Defrost mode. This model is equipped with both a Weight and Time Defrost, that automatically sets the optimal defrosting time and power level! We sincerely hope that this information is helpful for you.
