“Does anyone run this all the time? like 24/7 it is making ice. I was using a couple 150-200 ice makers from Amazon to make ice but they stopped working after 5-6 months due to some leaking.”

It is always on and starts making ice as soon as the ice level in the storage container drops. Pretty much every time you get ice out of the machine and close the bin it starts making ice to replace the used portion. I also haven't heard the machine turn on and make ice randomly from lack of use causing the ice to melt in the bin.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, I run ours 24/7. I’ve had the older models of the Opal but they stopped working. I now have the GE Ice Maker. I have had it for a little over a month. I love it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The ice maker runs only until the ice bin is full. It will turn back on as soon as you take ice out or if the ice melts down a bit. Lastly the ice maker can be put on a schedule to run when you want it, through the app.
