It’s a convection micro.  The metal rack and try is used when you cook in the convection mode with heat and microwave.

Hello, we appreciate you coming to us with this question. The metal tray are shelves to be used during Convection Bake, Convection Roast, or Combination Fast Bake. These should not be used during microwave use. For best results, use one shelf in the lower position and leave at least one inch gap between the cooking dish and sides of oven. For two level Baking or Fast Baking use both shelves. For more instruction on this please look at page 19 of the use and care manual. We hope this information is helpful to you.
