Hello - thank you for reaching out to us. We checked the information for this unit, and sensor cooking features can still work with a plastic cover for the food. You can use a cover that is vented and is microwave safe, but we still recommend to cover the food with a lid or vented plastic wrap. -- We hope this response was insightful, and please let us know if we can help with anything else.
