QuestionI noticed the height in the rear is about half inch less than front. This unit would replace an exist. unit. Tiled backsp. is installed. Will the install reveal more wall in the rear based upon height diff or is that half inch absorbed bet. Wall cabs?

QuestionI am replacing my GE SpacemakerXL1800 with this model PVM9179. The existing microwave has OUTSIDE BACK EXHAUST HORIZONTAL DUCT (installation type C). Do the exhaust holes in the back of the units have the same dimensions and positions for the 2 models?

- Answer Hi - Thank you for reaching out to us and for your interest in a new Profile over-the-range microwave. The size of the duct is 3 1/4" x 10". We recommend reviewing the installation templates we make available online to compare the actual vent location to your existing model. Select XL1800 series models may have the vent situated in a different location. If you provide the actual model of your existing microwave, we can check on this further. Kind regards - Vikki@GEA

- Answer Hi, and thanks for reaching out to us. We appreciate your interest in our microwave. All 30" over-the-range microwaves are approximately the same width, and are designed to fit into a 30" wide cabinet opening. Therefore, any of our 30" over-the-range models will work as a replacement for an existing 30" over-the-range model. - When replacing an over-the-range microwave, the mounting bracket included with the new microwave should be used since the mounting bracket is specific to each model. The new screws, bolts, and exhaust adapter should also be used. A top and rear exhaust/mounting paper guide comes with the microwave for reference. We hope this helps. Take care! -Mel@GEA

QuestionDoes this air fryer actually work like an air fryer?? Some reviews indicate it does not work like a true air fryer.

- Answer No it is not like air fryers many of us are use to. I can put the same item in my countertop air fryer and in this GE, same temp and time and it will be cold in GE and piping hot in countertop. Disaappointing to me...wanted to free up countertop and hv this instead. May return it. I think its cooks like a convection type oven. Very slow air fry.
