It can be installed under a cabinet, even if there is not a cooking surface underneath; however, the height clearances must still be met. There must be a minimum of 30” of height between the bottom edge of the cabinet and the surface below. For more details, see the Mounting Space section on page 6 of the Installation Instructions, which can be viewed at the bottom of the Features tab on the product page of the Best Buy website.
