Greetings Puddin, Thank you for reaching out. We're happy to answer your question. It sure can, but not with the PEM31SFSS. The PEM31SFSS microwave can be installed in 3 ways: placed on a counter-top, suspended from the underside of a cabinet using a hanging kit (to save valuable counter space) or built-in using the appropriate built-in kit (which includes above a built-in oven). It is not approved to be installed above a "range". The only microwaves we offer that are approved for installation above a range are the over-the-range models (that also operate as a vent hood as an added bonus). Keep in touch! Mike@GEA
