A:AnswerHi rc01- We are sorry to hear of the arcing in your microwave and glad to offer assistance. Arcing may occur for several reasons. Gold or Metal cooking utensils can cause arcing between the metal and the microwave case. Gold or metal trimmed cooking utensils can cause arcing as well. It has been found that some vegetables such as green beans and carrots may cause an arcing effect/sparking (on the food product itself) when cooked in the microwave. Possible reasons why this arcing occurs: The vegetables are not covered. The types of seasoning (i.e.: bacon grease, onions, etc). Little (if any) water surrounding the vegetables. Also, Model PEB7226SFSS is available for purchase to use with you existing trim: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/ge-profile-series-2-2-cu-ft-full-size-microwave-stainless-steel/2877099.p?skuId=2877099 - We certainly appreciate your loyalty! A:AnswerHi BforGE- We certainly appreciate your loyalty! Microwave trim kits are not interchangeable. A trim kit consists of the trim frame, as well as an upper, lower, and rear duct that attaches to and encases the microwave inside the cabinet cut-out. It is important to only use the trim kit designed for that model. PEB7226SFSS is compatible with GE® Optional 30" Built-In Trim Kit JX7230SFSS. We suggest to view the Quick Specs for details: http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=240379_peb7226sf_c2.pdf - Keep in touch! SUEatGEA
A:AnswerHi MDRD-We certainly appreciate your loyalty and glad to offer assistance! If the microwave runs but is not heating, it could be one of many components. Make sure the “Timer” function was not inadvertently used. Check to ensure the is door closed firmly. Close it firmly, but do not slam. This confirms the engagement of the door's safety mechanisms. Also, GE Profile™ Series 2.2 Cu. Ft. Countertop Microwave Oven PEB7226SFSS is still a current model (same as PEB7226SF1SS). Installation of this appliance requires basic mechanical and electrical skills. We suggest to view the built-in trim kit installation instructions at the following link: https://www.myapstore.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-40727.pdf - These microwaves should not be installed lower than 36" above the floor.
