I don't think it is loud, but light it is not. You will know you are carrying this guy both in size and weight But you get a full keyboard with keypad, giant screen, etc. so if you want those things you aren't going to get small and light. You are also going to have to carry the power brick because the battery is only going to last a little over an hour. I bought an extra one that lives in the bag so I don't have to keep packing up the one at home. That speeds up my getting ready to leave the house time

That 1.5 doesn't sound like much, but you really feel it if you hand one to someone else, and it can add up if you haul it around all day. (Nothing misogynistic about this, but I find women complain about the extra weight more than men). If you have some hand weights around, you might try walking around with them in a backpack and see how that feels. Half a gallon of water will also suffice.
