Two different and unrelated questions. 1. Yes, you can remove the battery, but then you HAVE to keep it plugged in, or it will just be an expensive paperweight. 2, Without the battery and plugged in, it will get a theoretical use of years' worth of hours, so technically, this is "more hours," but only because the battery limit is bypassed.
