These devices have all been carrier unlocked, but Best Buy does not sell the "Google Store" version of a phone with an unlocked bootloader (required if you want to tinker with the phone and install ROMs). Otherwise, though, if you just want to use it on AT&T or T-Mobile or Google Fi, etc. this version of the phone will work.

This is the Verizon version and will have a locked bootloader. It's not possible to preorder the unlocked version through Best Buy. If you want the unlocked version, you'll have to purchase it through Google.
