When buying this phone at Bestbuy to use with Verzion, is there additional costs to activate? Would someone be better off buying unlocked? null

I just had an activation fee. It was $40. Verizon will charge that no matter if you buy their version or unlocked. Personally, I don't think there is any issue with buying this phone from Verizon. The Pixel 4 only comes loaded with the My Verizon app, which I think very Verizon user should want on their phone. Other than that, you can't tell it's the Verizon one, even when booting up. I was very impressed how small of a footprint Verizon has on this phone. Also, unlocked may be more expensive. I know I was set on buying an unlocked phone because of bloatware but Verizon has been very kind to this phone.

Depends of the sale and with Verizon I believe it's 40$.
During black Friday the phone was a total after 24th no 400$ im sure you can do the math.

I think when buying any phone to use with Verizon there is going to be the $40 activation fee but there were no additional charges from Best buy

There is a $40 activation fee with Verizon. It should show up on your next bill. Sometimes there are promotions that waive the activation fee. I don't think buying unlocked would avoid the activation fee.
