I do not believe Verizon is involved in applying any monthly credits. The $10 a month price is what it actually is. This offer is different from the Verizon offer in that way. This is how I understand it: You could buy the phone on payment plan for $10 a month, then turn around and pay off the full amount as soon as you choose and have you a pixel for $240. I am not aware of a clause that says you have to maintain the payment plan or even the line of service for a specific time, but that would be a question to ask a best buy rep about for sure.
