• You buy that phone within a Best Buy location that is rented out to Verizon. You deal with Verizon employees and Verizon finances while there. Credit will be approved/denied based on Verizon scheme. Think of Best Buy as Verizon realtor

• Yes this phone supports all US carriers (T-Mobile, AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon) as well as their prepaid carriers (such as Boost Mobile, Straight Talk, etc.) Just pop an active SIM card in and it will work.
