Lift the camera flap

You can cut the doors to the camera lens so it won't obstruct the lens. You can cut the doors to the ear plug and on/off button. Your iPad will still be protected.

The screen side camera is not covered and the case has a rubber corner that opens to allow use of the lens on the back of the I-Pad.

There's a small flap on the rear corner of the case. That flap can be disengaged and moved to the side when the camera is being used. After the camera is used, the flap can be easily returned to its original position, effectively protecting the iPad Air.

There is a cut out in the back by the camera which you can open and close as you wish. To open and keep the camera exposed however is a bit difficult. That being said, I hardly use my iPad as a camera so it does not bother me specifically.
