I took the clear plastic off my Galaxy Note 4 otterbox defender case so I could use a tempered glass screen protector because the plastic one did not feel good to me. My guess is this case may have a silicon glue like the defender although I am not sure. If it can't be pilled off from the plastic outside ring you may be able to use a x-acto knife and cut it out. That way you can have the good feel of the glass screen or a glass screen protector if you use those.

Yes you can remove just the front in order to clean it.

The screen protector should not be removed during use. The display shield portion must be used since it is necessary to hold the device securely to the back of the case. Thanks! ^ Jen.

I would not trust it. The clear plastic snaps at 7 places to hold the tablet and case together. Without the plastic you are relying on just a rubber seal to hold the tablet.
