Yes, it does have a raised front to protect the front of the phone. I have already dropped mine & it didn’t crack. I do have a screen protector, but when I dropped my phone in another phone case, the screen protector cracked. In this phone case it did not. The camera also has a raised area around it.

Yes, the front of the case has raised edges to protect against a straight fall. And no the camera is not protected it is pretty much flush with the back of the phone case
