“Does the fryer require a certain amount of oil before it will begin to heat up? I put in 1 gal of oil. The power light does not come on. Double checked the power source. It is ok.”

I always put oil up to the level it says to.

For best performance, it is recommended to fill fryer with about 15 cups (3.5 L) but no more than about 19 cups (4.5 L) of oil to top indicator mark on the removable oil pot. However, if your fryer is not powering on, we would recommend ensuring that the power cord is fully inserted, and also trying pressing the RESET button.
