Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hello, I will answer based on my experience. HD HomeRun Connect Duo works only with free to air channels, and channels like Discovery/A&E are not free to air as they come with a Cable subscription. However, try to look for HD HomeRun prime 6, maybe it will do.

Record, playback and other platforms coming soon. So you can record the shows to which you subscribe but playback of protected content like you describe must be done through the HDHomeRun application. You would need an HDHomeRun device with enough processors to handle each stream. Duo will handle two separate shows simultaneously, Quatro will handle up to four. You would need to subscribe to HDHomeRun Premium to access premium (non-OTA) channels. You would need to subscribe to the annual recording subscription. You could only play back content that's recorded through their free HDHomeRun app. One additional note as someone who has used it: The stream quality of Premium is not as good as other providers like YouTube TV or Sling TV, so the recorded content will not look great on a large, HDTV, but should look okay on a phone or tablet.
