this is not a set top box.
You will need some sort of smart devices (PC Mac Xbox Playstation android TV apple TV) to be able to use this.
The DVR service is extra per year and does include the guide service.
if you want to be able to access your recordings you would want to use a service like PLEX or EMBY or have a media server set up.

This is the OTA (Over The Air) version tuner. It is meant to receive broadcast HDTV. HDHomeRun does make a cable TV version but it requires a "access card" provided from your cable provider.

you can use this in addition to your streaming app. conncet to your digital antenna and your router..then download the hdhomerun app.. ps: does not work with Roku
