You have the option to connect this TV to your AV receiver via blue tooth or optical or component in addition to HDMI connection, it all depends on your receiver compatibility. You will get the best sound via HDMI or Optical connection. You can also disable the ARC on your TV if you do not like the HDMI control.

Yes, I use HDMI ARC with my Samsung Sound Bar.
