This is essentially what I had done, but I bought the TPLink extender on Amazon bcause Best Buy didnt sell what I needed. The tech said they dont do exterioe work, but at leadt he connected the extender to my internet server. Then i was able to buy a longer ethernet cable and aim the extender at the othet bldg. It gives us 3 bars in the main room of the bldg 300 feet away.
