I have mine hooked to a 20 amp dedicated breaker. I also have to use an extension cord that has the same rating. Barely gets warm. I have used other brands of heaters with this setup and so far no overheating issues. We never leave this unit running when we leave the house. I don't trust units like this because they are made with the cheapest materials possible.
