• Thank you for your inquiry. Cool mist ultrasonic humidifiers produce mist using a nebulizer in the base that vibrates at ultrasonic speeds. This differs from an evaporative cool mist humidifier, in which water is wicked up from the base into a porous filter pad, and air blowing from the fan through the pad evaporates the moisture into the air.
