In the Power Scrub Deluxe, it dispenses 16oz of 'solution' for every one gallon of water in the clear-water tank. So it dispenses 1-1/8 gallon, total, of 'mixed' detergent and water to the carpet. The correct amount is just about 3.5 oz of any of the 2X cleaners or 7oz of the 1x types. Then continue to fill the solution tank to the 'fill line' with water. If it's easier 3oz or 6oz will work fine, and won't challenge your measuring cup accuracy. The manual is terrible. It's full of inaccuracies and omissions, and Hoover technical support is the WORST IN THE INDUSTRY. They always send you back to the manual, which has exactly ZERO information on the correct amount of their various cleaners to use. And you cannot contact a human on the Hoover site by any means -- ever.
