• No I use it on my carpets and have no problem with it.

• Thank you for your question! If your area rug/antique rug/etc. is able to be "wet cleaned" (Discerned by the "W" or "W/S" clean label on the tag. If "S" do not use carpet cleaner.) then your carpet should be fine. You can always test this with a wet washcloth and a paper towel. Also utilize online resources to learn if your carpet is suited for wet cleaning. Thanks, Joseph - The Hoover Team
