“HP documentation says warranty will not cover issues where screen is left on for long periods, yet monitor does not support auto sleep mode. Why doesn't this monitor have auto sleep mode? Its a real pain having to remember to turn off each time when done.”

This monitor does have auto-sleep mode. When I shut down my HP Z420 workstation, the screen blacks out and the indicator light goes to amber, indicating auto-sleep mode.
