In order to use your fax on the same phone line as your home phone, you would need to use the "distinctive ring" feature that is included with this fax. With distinctive ring, your phone company’s system would need to determine if the incoming call was a fax or a phone call and send a different ring for faxes that the fax machine would recognize and accept the fax. I recommend contacting your phone company to determine if their equipment supports distinctive ring.
