How do i take the black cover off the HDMI null

You don’t. You stick it in the back of the GPU.

There is nothing attached to the motherboard from that HDMI port with the black cover. Use the HDMI port on the dedicated video card further down below. This motherboard does not support integrated graphics. The processor does and the bios steals 2 gigs of your system ram for the unusable integrated graphics. Still waiting for HP to issue a BIOS to correct this issue.
