It has a single location for a NVME drive. I did not see a connector for a SATA style drive. So, the only way to upgrade the storage is to replace the current NVME drive (AFAIK). I replaced mine w a larger NVME drive that I had recently installed in the laptop this one was replacing. It is a 2TB. I merely swapped them and instantly had all the same files, programs etc on my new laptop. If course, Windows immediately recognized the new hardware and started installing appropriate drivers. A manual can be downloaded from the HP website that has instructions for installing a new drive, RAM etc... Very helpful.
