Can I swap out the wifi card? null

Yes, you can swap out the wi-fi adapter inside it, but HP highly recommends taking your laptop to an authorized HP service provider such as Best Buy for any type of servicing. Make sure that you also have the drivers available for the new wi-fi module.

Don't know why you would want to, but who am I to argue. Just a word of caution: have you ever done this before? I ask because there are two tiny wires to disconnect and then reconnect. They are very fragile, and the connecting points themselves are difficult to handle and to verify a good connection.
