It's bus-powered by the computer. No separate power source is required.

It is powered by the computer, but I have had two of these and they were both defective.

No separate power needed! Simply plug it into your USB-C port and it is good to go.

It is powered by the USB-C port attached at the end. The various ports on the hub are for external attachments.

Mine is a Hyper Drive Power to Go 9 in 1 2019 version. It is compatible with my iPad Pro. I just attached the USB-C to my iPad Pro keyboard. The first one I purchased was returned because it wasn’t 100% compatible with the iPad Pro. I think the newer version came out in Nov or Dec 2018. I contacted Sanyo to find out what would be compatible. The gave me the info on this Hyper Drive.
