How do the colours work? null

You'll need to go to the manufacturer's website to download the HyperX NGENUITY software on a computer running microsoft Windows in order to customize the RGB lighting on the HyperX Quadcast S. Google "HyperX NGENUITY software", it should be one of the first results.

Mine just rotates but, depending on which one you get I think you can pick the colors you want. There is a app for it I believe, but I havent used it.
