Why is my ssd only getting filled and not my hdd null

Most programs default to the drive where your operating system is installed which would be the SSD. Most programs have a place where you can choose programs to install. For instance Steam has an area where you can choose multiple places to install new downloads. If you are wanting to choose where Windows apps go. Click the start menu, the cog wheel for settings to the left, system, storage, scroll to the bottom and choose "change where new content is saved" then you can pick your regular Hard Drive.
