• anything should work with it since you use the charger plug you already have. I have never tried resting my IPad on it and I am not sure how well it would stand up. I use it for an IPhone 6.

• Yes. As long as your iPad Air has the Lightening plug, it will be fine. If it needs a 30 pin plug, then there is a separate USB plug that you can use.
