“Can you monitor the sound out of ur headphones while recording? So if I am recording music with this mic can I monitor the beat at the same time”

Yes, the iRig Mic Lav will playback all audio output from the connected device. Depending on the app being used, you may be able to monitor your input in real time. While there are many apps which allows this, check out iRig Recorder 3 LE, VocaLive CS, or GarageBand as some good examples.
