A 90-degree open door would not add to the width of the unit, so no additional space would be required on that side. However, the crisper section needs more than a 90 degree open door (on the hinge side) in order to be opened more than a couple of inches.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Insignia 10 cubit foot is about 23.5" wide and it takes maybe another 1/2" to open the door, so you should be ok. Also, the door can be hung on either side and comes with a kit to change how the door is hung. The default side for the hinges is your right if you are facing the fridge. What's really nice, that I just noticed today, is you only have to have the door open perfectly perpendicular to wide side of the fridge and the crisper drawer will pull out nicely because there are no shelves on the door at the level that the crisper drawer pulls out. This fridge is well thought out for small spaces and really not THAT tiny.
