“Which version is this? And why isn't that info listed? The version is literally the most important spec, considering it's the benchmark of this product's only function. It's like selling gasoline and not telling your customer the octane rating... shady”

This is a 'passive' cable, and only works with DisplayPort version 1.3 and higher. a.k.a 'Dual Mode' a.k.a. 'DP++' . It didn't work on my DisplayPort 1.2. I had to buy an 'Active' cable which does the converting with a little circuit board built in.
