Is this compatible with Brother DCP-L3540DW null

This is a standard USB-A to B printer cable and so the plugs will work to connect your PC (USB-A) to the printer's standard USB-B connection. However I have seen that they recommend a 6 foot cable and this one is a 10' cable. I did not have any problems using this 10' cable with my Brother HL 2270DW printer
