• Yes, when you remove the pan the machine starts beeping warning you that it is about to shut off.

• Yes it will turn off in a few seconds after you remove the pot.

• The burner powers off, but the unit is still in the on position. You must manually press off button to turn unit off. This way if you need to remove pot/pan to drain liquid etc. You wont need to re initialize your burner temperature.
