No, It runs about 2 min every 45 min.

Nope, it only runs to keep the temperature constant and then shuts off. It's very quiet, regardless. I have this in my guest bedroom while we're remodeling our basement bar area, and it doesn't make any appreciable noise.

It runs when ever the tempture is not satisfied inside the fridge
